Project Overview

Overview:

The current Pedestrian Bridge, featuring a 6’ Walking Path with Metal Central Drain and Inverted-V-Shaped Piers on steep (12%) inclines, did not meet the design standards.

Conversely, the planned Pedestrian Bridge must include a 14’ Walking Path with a loop ramp, ensuring ADA compliance with a maximum slope of 4.9%.

Details:

The proposed Pedestrian Bridge aims to address the shortcomings of the existing structure by incorporating key design elements that prioritize accessibility and safety for all pedestrians. With a widened 14-foot walking path, the new bridge will offer ample space for individuals to traverse comfortably and safely. The inclusion of a loop ramp not only ensures compliance with ADA regulations but also provides a seamless transition for those with mobility challenges.

By maintaining a maximum slope of 4.9%, the new bridge will offer a gentler incline that is more accommodating for individuals of all abilities. This design adjustment not only enhances accessibility but also promotes inclusivity, allowing everyone to enjoy the bridge with ease.

In essence, the proposed Pedestrian Bridge embodies a commitment to creating a more inclusive and user-friendly infrastructure that caters to the diverse needs of the community. Through thoughtful design and adherence to accessibility standards, the new bridge will serve as a vital link that connects people and fosters a sense of unity and connection for all who cross its path.
